There is such a thing as TOO BIG!

We have all heard the phrase, "Bigger is better" or "The Bigger the Better"...Right?  Well, I am here to tell you that there is such a thing as TOO BIG!  Now don't get me wrong, there is no such thing as too big when it comes to storage space , Dr. Pepper, Chocolate ice cream (especially with mint), strawberries, boxes of thin mint girl scout cookies, or Bangs in the 80's.  But, when it comes to the size of the bottle your daughter's medicine comes in....REALLY?

Just look at the size of this thing!  It is HUGE!  So big in fact that when my mother-in-law saw it she laughed and said, "That looks like what we used to get from the vet for our horses".  Yes, it is big.  The bottle itself measures 8 1/2 inches tall and 12 inches around.
I know my daughter has to take a lot of medicine every day but it usually comes in 2 bottles not a jug.  I am not sure who at the pharmacy thought this massive, glass bottle was a good idea or even user friendly but it did give me a serious look of confusion when I saw it and a good laugh.  Maybe that was their intention - a good ol' pharmacy joke.  None the less, it did put into perspective just how much medicine my sweet little girl takes everyday. (And that is only one of her medications....)  Big sigh....

Now, onto the next item that can be too big.  That would be the size of spoon you are given by your waiter at a restaurant.

Last weekend we went out to dinner with some friends and watched the 1st Jazz game in the Playoffs.
We had a great time munching on appetizers, dinner and then decided to get dessert.  I wasn't paying much attention when the waiter brought our dessert and told us he had brought a whole bunch of spoons and set them on our table.  Then, he said "Sorry, we are out of spoons so I brought you big ones."  OK, I am thinking a soup spoon instead of the "normal sized" everyday spoon we all eat with.  But, NO.....my friend picked up her spoon to start eating her dessert and said "He wasn't kidding when he said Big"!
It was a SERVING SPOON!!!!!  You know, the kind you put in a salad or casserole!  Seriously...What was HE THINKING!!!!

I tried to give you a little perspective but the picture does not do it justice.  The bottom spoon is a "normal" sized spoon.  The Top spoon is a serving spoon.  Once again, a cruel joke or did they really not have someone who could wash dishes?  Hmmmmm.....  Either way, we all had a good laugh at each other as we tried to eat dessert with a GIGANTIC spoon.
So, the next time you say, or hear someone say, "There is no such thing as too big" or "The bigger the Better", you might want to think twice about it because you might just get stuck with something worse that a GIANT spoon to eat your dessert with.
